In case you're wondering what the above poll is all about, check out the blog posts on ASV by starting here:
Here's a gratuitous chicken photo, just to make this look like a legitimate post:
Ahhh, what the heck!
I may as well do a real post, since I'm here...
The above photo is of the first (and ONLY) mean rooster I've ever had.
This is the same rooster, after I kicked him half-way across the barn and chased him outside.
He's a pretty boy but I will NOT tolerate an ill tempered chicken!
(I had enough of that with husbands!)

Try humiliating him. It's kinda weird, but I've had it work. Every time he comes after you, catch him, flip him upside down in your arms and coddle him for a while. Stroke his comb and waddles, ruffle his feathers on his chest, mess with his feet. I swear it embarasses them....
ReplyDeleteHe is the most beautiful ornery rooster I have ever seen!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rayna, but I would go one step further and tell him how "pretty" he is. You know, emasculate him a little ; )
I'll give it a try, Marilyn and Rayna.
ReplyDeleteBut YOU GUYS have to get back here and VOTE! You forgot to pick your favorites in the poll...
;-)
I have to admit, I don't hold out a lot of hope for the emasculating approach...
ReplyDelete...it really didn't seem to help at all with my ex-husbands.
;-)
hahahahahahahahahaha Yeah yeah yeah, I voted. Not for my own though...The relazi one is cooler than mine. I still giggle about my Mr T one though lol
ReplyDeleteI chose relazi too and I have to admit, the emasculating tip may not always work, but it's always fun :) I still use it on ALL my ex husbands!
ReplyDeleteDid kicking help? My little Roosterman would just come back for more when I tried that tactic. If he were still among us, I'd love to try the emasculating approach...ha!
ReplyDeleteKicking helped for the moment, but I doubt it will be a long-term solution. I'm really not one that approve of physical violence with animals but it was a knee-jerk reaction when the sucker attacked my leg! Good thing I had long pants on. This rooster is out in my big barn in a "bachelor group" and gets very little human attention. He's probably just trying to establish his dominance over this human who occasionally ventures onto his turf. We'll figure something out...
ReplyDelete;-)
pick him up and walk around with him under your arm as long as you can! always works with my big boys
ReplyDeleteThat's a GREAT idea, John! I like it much better than kicking him! I truly don't like being mean to any animals...
